Termini Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 21, 2026
1. Overview
Termini is a native macOS SSH and SFTP client. It is local-first and works without an account. This policy explains exactly what data Termini stores, what (if anything) it sends, and the choices you have. It covers the Termini app specifically; Fleeq's general company privacy policy covers the rest of fleeq.net.
2. What stays on your device
Termini keeps your data on your Mac. None of the following is transmitted to Fleeq:
- Passwords & key passphrases — stored in the macOS Keychain, never written to disk in plaintext.
- Hosts, known host keys, and snippets — stored in your app container with owner-only (0600) permissions.
- SSH keys & ~/.ssh config — read only after you explicitly grant access through the macOS file picker; that grant is remembered as a security-scoped bookmark and never leaves your device.
- File contents and session activity — your transfers and terminal output go directly between your Mac and the servers you connect to.
3. What we collect (opt-in only)
Termini includes an optional, off-by-default anonymous install ping. It is disabled until you turn it on. When enabled, at most once per week it sends:
- A random install identifier (a UUID you can regenerate; not linked to your identity)
- The app version and build number
- Your macOS version
- Your system locale (e.g.
en_US)
That is the entire payload. It contains no hostnames, credentials, file data, keys, or session activity. It is used only to estimate active installs and which macOS versions to support.
4. Turning telemetry off (or on)
The install ping is off by default. You can enable or disable it at any time in Termini → Settings. Disabling it stops all network calls to Fleeq; you can also regenerate the random install identifier.
5. No tracking, no ads
Termini does not track you across apps or websites, contains no advertising, and bundles no third-party analytics or marketing SDKs. Its App Store privacy "nutrition label" reflects exactly the optional analytics described above.
6. In-app purchases
Termini Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple through the Mac App Store. Termini never receives your payment details. Apple manages billing, receipts, restores, and refunds under Apple's privacy policy. See our Termini Support page for how to restore or manage a purchase.
7. Connections you initiate
When you connect to a server, Termini opens a standard SSH/SFTP connection directly to that server using the address and credentials you provide. Fleeq is not a proxy and never sees that traffic. How those servers handle your data is governed by their own operators and policies.
8. Data retention & your rights
Because Termini stores your data locally, you control it: delete hosts, snippets, and known host keys in-app, or remove the app's container to erase everything. If telemetry is enabled, the anonymous install record is retained only as long as needed for aggregate metrics; you can stop further collection at any time, and you may email us to request deletion of an install record.
9. Children's privacy
Termini is a developer tool not directed to children under 16, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Termini evolves. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
