Frequently asked questions
Termini can't see my SSH keys or ~/.ssh/config
Termini runs in the macOS App Sandbox, so it can only read your ~/.ssh folder after you grant access. Open Settings → Keys(or use onboarding's "Import ~/.ssh/config") and click Grant Access, then select the .ssh folder. Termini remembers the grant for next time.
I got a host key change warning — what should I do?
Termini uses trust-on-first-use and alerts you if a saved server's key later changes, showing the previous and new fingerprints side by side. If you (or your admin) expected the change, accept it; if not, it could indicate a man-in-the-middle and you should reject and verify the fingerprint out of band. Reject is the default action.
My SSH key has a passphrase
Termini supports passphrase-protected OpenSSH keys (Ed25519 and RSA). Enter the passphrase when prompted; it is stored in the macOS Keychain so you're not asked every time.
How do I browse local files for SFTP uploads?
The local pane opens in your Downloads folder, which is always available. To use any other folder, click Choose Folder in the local pane and pick it — the sandbox grants and remembers access to that folder.
Where does Termini store my data?
Locally. Passwords and key passphrases live in the macOS Keychain; hosts, known host keys, and snippets are stored in Termini's app container with owner-only permissions. Nothing is uploaded to Fleeq. See the Termini Privacy Policy.
A transfer failed or got stuck
Check the transfer queue for the error, confirm the remote path is writable and you have space, then retry from the queue. Termini notifies you when transfers finish or fail, even in the background. If it persists, email us the error text.
Tips & shortcuts
- Press ⌘K for the command palette — jump to any host, snippet, or action.
- ⌘T opens a new SSH session; use the split button to view two terminals at once.
- Drag files between the local pane and any server — or directly server to server.
- In the SFTP browser, ⌘A selects all and ⌘⌫ deletes the selection.
Termini Pro & purchases
Termini is free to download. Termini Pro is a one-time in-app purchase (not a subscription) that unlocks unlimited saved hosts and unlimited ~/.ssh/configimport. It's available in the Mac App Store build of Termini.
Buying Pro
In Termini, open Settings → About → Termini Pro (or trigger any Pro feature) and choose Unlock Pro. Apple handles the payment.
Restoring a purchase
On a new Mac, or after reinstalling, open Settings → About → Restore Purchases. As long as you're signed in with the same Apple Account, Pro re-activates at no charge.
Managing or refunding
Because Pro is an Apple purchase, billing is managed in your Apple Account. View your purchase history or request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. There is nothing to cancel — it's a one-time purchase, so you won't be billed again.
