Software license (EULA)
Last updated: [date of publication]
Draft. This text hasn't been reviewed by a lawyer yet and doesn't apply until it has. Details in [brackets] are still to be filled in.
The short version
- The whole source: Wharfbase, including the premium modules, is available under the Elastic License 2.0 (ELv2). You may use it, copy it, change it and run it, for yourself or your clients.
- You may not:
- offer Wharfbase to others as a hosted or managed service;
- get around the license key checks;
- remove licensing or copyright notices.
- The premium modules need a valid license key for a plan that includes them (Pro, Team or Founder). These are the
eedirectories and the extended engines. Community includes every other feature, free.
The full terms
- The software license is the Elastic License 2.0, as in the
LICENSEfile of the repository, between you and [Company name] as the licensor. - Premium modules: the code in every directory named
ee, and theee/drivers-extendedpackage, is also under the Elastic License 2.0. On top of that, using its functionality requires a valid Wharfbase license key for a plan that includes it. Without such a key, you may read and change that code, but not use its functionality. - License keys are issued under our Terms of Service. They allow the number of instances of the plan, for the term of the plan, or without a time limit for Founder.
- What the Elastic License already forbids: moving, changing, disabling or getting around the license key functionality, and removing or hiding licensing, copyright or other notices.
- No warranty. As the Elastic License 2.0 states, the software is provided as is. Statutory rights that can’t be excluded stay unaffected, and so does our liability under the Terms of Service for licenses you bought.
- Third-party components keep their own licenses: see the SBOM published with each release.
If anything here and the Elastic License 2.0 disagree, the Elastic License 2.0 applies, except for point 2, which adds to it.
